About Me

I’ve worked as a Personal trainer and professional Strength and Conditioning Coach [CSCS] for the last 11 years. I have trained 300+ plus people [over 9,000 sessions]. Many of my clients have been with me for 5 years plus. They continue to make gains and enjoy the training. 

Clients include busy male professionals, females looking to get stronger and leaner, models, TV presenters, actors, and general population. From 17 years old to 70 years old. I've also worked with professional / semi-professional athletes, including helping rehab various injuries [shoulder, knee, back..etc.] 

Being strong, athletic, and feeling good, are key components of my training philosophy. Also tapping in to what motivates you internally and externally to achieve maximum results and pain free longevity with your training. 

My approach is science based and honed through years of experience. I continually keep up to date with the lates research on training, health and nutrition via workshops, seminars, online courses and reading. I've also had a number of articles published online. 

I played rugby league for the Irish Wolfhounds against Wales twice and Scotland once. A torn AC joint put an end to that. I now play competitive tennis and touch rugby.

I am a NCEHS certified Personal Trainer through NTC (National Training Center), Dublin.

Sessions take place in a fully equipped private studio located in Dublin 4. The studio is fully compliant with regards to HSE recommendations in dealing with Covid 19 preventative measures. Our client's health and safety is of utmost importance. 


I create programs designed to bring about long term change. There is no magic bullet when it comes to health and fitness. It is a lifetime journey.

Program goals include fat loss, muscle building, strength programs, and nutritional support.

Programs designed to help you look and feel athletic. 

FEMALES

Looking to lose body fat, increase strength, and build lean (toned) muscle.

I am

- Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach [CSCS] via the NSCA. The NSCA - CSCS certification is the gold standard for strength and conditioning / sports performance training and is the recognized leader at the very top levels of sport.  

- Certified in Strength Training in Team sports via Barca strength Hub in association with Barcelona F.C.

- Certified in olympic lifting, and in speed and power development for athletes. 

- Altis Essentials course graduate

I have and continue to work with high level athletes from rugby, football, tennis, golf and downhill mountain biking. 

Programs are designed around the needs and demands of the athlete and the sport they play. 

I specialise in speed. Making athletes faster on the pitch. Through a mixture of gym work, running mechanics (analysis), plyometrics, acceleration and top speed work.

My fitness journey with Mark began 5 years ago ... and that in itself says something. 

Initially, my goal was simply and somewhat vaguely to ‘get in better shape’ - - lose some body fat, build some muscle and generally feel better. 

Not only did I attain that goal in short-order, but looking back now I can see that during this initial period Mark also laid a foundation of strength, skill and movement from which I am still benefiting and building on to this day. 

This solid grounding has meant that over the years, as my fitnesses goals have developed and changed, I have found myself being able to approach each new interest with strength and confidence. 

Under Marks guidance, I have learned boxing and sprinting technique, how to perform Olympic Lifts, how to hold a handstand, gymnastic routines on the P-Bars and Olympic Rings and more besides … and all of this while getting significantly stronger, keeping a low body fat and generally feeling a whole lot better.  

These are all things I never would have thought possible 5 years ago, but with Mark’s knowledge, passion and care guiding me each step of the way they have not only become a reality, but are elements which I will continue to build on. 

That all being said, perhaps more than anything else, what working with Mark has given me is a passion for training. Each session with him is fun, thoughtful and interesting and I look forward to each and every workout we have together. 


I can wholeheartedly recommend Mark to anyone looking to make their next step in fitness, whether that be a beginner with general fitness goals or a more advanced athlete looking to develop their skillset.

I’ve had all sorts of trainers in my time: the musclemen who live only for bigger biceps, the evangelical clean eaters, the touchy-feely ones, and the cowboys who think training is piling as many weights as they can on a bar then making you squat till your knees break. 
Mark McAuley is mercifully none of these things.
I’ve been training with Mark for 9 years now. Here’s why: he’s simply very good at what he does. He drives me, but does no damage; he listens, then adapts accordingly; he is kind, but he is no pushover. Mostly though, Mark really, truly knows his stuff. He knows the mechanics of the body backwards, he understands diet, nutrition, and energy, and is a champion of developing strength (not bulk!), while gaining optimum mobility and maintaining balance, particularly as we age. I am very far from an elite athlete, though Mark has trained many of those. Instead I am a middle-aged woman, with no love of exercise and a great love for food and wine. Mark knows this, but does not harangue me – though he will offer dietary advice if I ask.  Instead he works within my own parameters with unfailing good humour, patience, and encouragement. It is thanks to him that I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been, and motivated enough to train regularly.

This is not one-size-fits-all personal training: I’ve done that.  This is personal training that is tailored to my needs and goals, created in a spirit of collaboration and challenge.  I train early in the morning, often cold, damp mornings, when it would be easier to turn over and go back to sleep.
